Angela Hailey
Co-Founder, Studio Melt
Angela spent almost a decade working in marketing before succumbing to the pull of the Arts. After completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Jewellery & Object Design) at Sydney College of the Arts, she developed a production range of contemporary jewellery which she sold through galleries and stores around Australia.
In March 2012, she took the opportunity offered by Renew Newcastle to establish a retail/studio/teaching space with fellow jeweller Suzy Manning. The objective was to create a dynamic space in which they could work in a shared environment, invite others in to share their skills and equipment and directly access their customers.
After receiving much encouragement and support locally and not wanting to lose their beautiful shop, Studio Melt, Angela and Suzy took a commercial lease in November 2012 and haven’t looked back.
