Luke Oliver

Co-Founder, The Roost Creative

Luke Oliver studied at Tighes Hill TAFE and completed his Diploma of Graphic Design. Before graduating Luke was offered a graphic design role at the University of Newcastle for the Family Action Centre. It was here he meet Lindee Hahn, the two discussed their common interest in design, communtiy development and collaboration. From their experiences at TAFE it came clear to them that the “collaborative classroom” approach of TAFE needed to be extented to people outside of study hours.

With support from Renew Newcastle they created their own collaborative community, The Roost Creative.

Created in late 2011, The Roost was and continues to be a creative hub for freelance creatives to share ideas, space and equipment. Luke and Louie along with a small passionate team drove the space from it’s humble beginnings to a professional workspace which now supports over 25 local creatives.
